Over the weekend of 27th-28th October our Scouts and Explorers took part in the Biggleswade District Hike competition. Over the weekend both teams had to walk 25km (Explorers) and 20km (Scouts) on the Saturday, then set up their own camp and cook their evening meal before they could relax. After cooking their breakfasts on the Sunday, there was another 20km for the Explorers and 15km for the Scouts before finishing with a BBQ!
The Leaders didn’t get an easy weekend either, manning waypoints on both days in the Autumnal weather – sunshine, rain and cold temps. it was a hard job, but someone (Leaders) had to do it. The hot drinks certainly helped keep our spirits up during they day…….
The outcome of a great weekend was that our Explorers in a joint team with Explorers from Henlow Clifton won the Explorer section and our Scouts won the B Team Category for the Scouts!!
