The annual Scouts District Chariot Race went ahead on Saturday at Robert Bloomfield Academy. Despite some heavy showers the teams racing for the trophy had a great day. Teams from Shefford, Langford, Arlesey and Haynes & Wilstead making their first appearance.

Competition was tight as usual and it looked like every team had been practising hard, before race day. Times were close and the average time over 2 runs was calculated.
This year’s winners were:
1st – Haynes & Wilstead – Chariots of Heskey – 54:65 +55.61 =1:50.26
2nd – Langford – Um I Don’t Know 2.0 – 53.50 + 57.13 = 1:50.63
3rd – Shefford – The Failians – 1:00.67 + 56.25 = 1:56.92
Every chariot was also judged and the best decorated award went to Arlesey’s Dambusted Chariot
The prizes were awarded by our ADC Scouts, Roy Snell
Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves especially the Burgers and Hot Dogs.
